Zenith Goes Two-Tone With Manga Inspired Chronomaster Revival

It is rare that a watch brand partners with a Japanese Manga and anime series, but when it happens, it can result in a timepiece unlike any other. Lupin The Third is an institution in the world of Manga, with the very first edition being published in 1967. Shortly after the launch of the original El Primero in 1969, it appeared on the wrist of Daisuke Jigen, the partner in crime of the main character Arsène Lupin III. It featured a black, grey, and gilt dial Zenith had never produced, but a bond was formed between the watch brand and the Magna series. This was strengthened even more in the final episode of the first series, with Jigen wearing a “panda” dial version of the watch.

Zenith Chronomaster Revival

Turning fiction into reality, Zenith has in the two previous years produced each of these watches as a limited edition but now concludes by mixing them together in a single timepiece. The result is a Chronomaster Revival with a delightfully split character. As to not cut through the subdials, the color line runs from just after one o’clock to just after seven. The effect is quite captivating, as the two parts of the dial are so different yet also go so well together.

For this watch, Zenith opted, of course, for the original 1969 design of the barrel-shaped case, complete with the period-correct ladder bracelet. While the diameter of the case is a relatively modest 37mm, the Chronomaster Revival wears larger due to its unique shape. Inside ticks caliber El Primero 400. This automatic movement ticks at the high frequency of 36,000, one of the hallmark features when it was launched. Zenith will make 250 pieces of the Chronomaster Revival Lupin The Third – Final Edition, which will be available worldwide both online and through Zenith’s authorized points of sale.
