White-Hot: the Best White Timepieces
You can’t fight it: these pieces are white-hot! This year a number of manufactures unveiled white watches, which was a pleasant surprise considering that even five years ago, there was a dearth of white timepieces.
According to the brands, the reaction from customers has already been very strong, and we look forward to seeing this trend develop in the years to come.
In the meantime, here are our favorite new white-hot watches:
This 45.5mm is a tribute to Hublot’s partnership with Ferrari. The dial features red hours and minute indexes, while the cylindrical bezel showcases the in-house flyback chronograph UNICO movement visible through the sapphire dial. The caseback features the legendary Prancing Horse. This timepiece is completed by two interchangeable straps, in red or black Schedoni leather stitched onto black rubber, with a quick-change system inspired by the safety seatbelt mechanism.
This 44mm x 46mm x 15mm timepiece features a colorless ALW case and bezel with a titanium crown. The dial features hours and minutes, as well as a photorealistic moon disc with red numerals and a blue full moon indicator. Only 59 numbered pieces of the Oktopus MoonLite will be produced, and it will retail for $21,600. The caseback feature an octopus engraving.
This 49.90mm x 42.70mm x 13.05mm timepiece is the latest model Richard Mille created for golfer Bubba Watson. It features a grade 5 titanium case with a protective white rubber casing and an ATZ bezel. Functions include hours, minutes and seconds. The manual winding Caliber RMUL2 skeleton movement is showcased on the openworked dial.
The newest addition to the Concept collection combines a titanium case middle, a white ceramic bezel, crown and pushpiece, as well as an integrated rubber strap. Inside the 44mm case, the dial of the 2014 Royal Oak Concept GMT Tourbillon showcases the intricately machined white ceramic upper bridge of the Calibre 2930, the tourbillon carriage and second ‘GMT’ time-zone.
