Here are the highlights from another busy week in the watchmaking industry.

Harry Winston Finalized the Histoire de Tourbillon 5 Design

The Histoire de Tourbillon 5 is the final chapter in a five piece exploration series on tourbillons, from Histoire de Tourbillon 1, which explores the movement and sculpture of the complication, to Histoire de Tourbillon 4, which sought the next level of precision and performance. The fifth installment will prominently feature Harry Winston’s tri-axial tourbillon. The movement has been reorganized on different layers, with a low-lying movement, bridges placed just below the surface, and the tri-axial towering over the scene from within its dome. Glashütte Original Unveiled the Senator Manual Winding Skeletonized Edition

Haute Time’s close-up of the week, the Senator Manual Winding Skeletonized Edition, pays tribute to the well-established tradition of skeletonized watches. The elegant two-hand comes in a polished red gold case, 42 mm in diameter, which frames the skeletonized manual winding Calibre 49-18. Breva Released the Genie 01 Limited Edition Platinum

Breva released a platinum-cased version of Genie 01, the world’s first watch with a mechanical barometer and altimeter. It once again features Genie 01’s proprietary caliber, a patented mechanism that powers a small seconds dial, altitude indicator, barometric pressure indicator, power reserve indicator, air pressure equalizer, equalizer seal indicator, barometric scale adjuster, and altitude scale adjuster. Valbray Partnered With Leica for the EL1 “100 Years Of Leica Photography Edition” 

To celebrated Leica’s 100th anniversary, Valbray released the commemorative EL1 Chronograph. It features Valbray’s signature Oculus diaphragm system, a 16-blade cover for the face that opens and closes like a camera shutter by turning the bezel. The watch features an engraved Leica logo on the crown as well as the words ‘100 Years of Leica Photography’ on the back.
