Marking 175 years of history can be a daunting task, yet not for Ulysse Nardin. Founded in 1846, their legacy in Haute Horlogerie has been firmly based on pursuing precision timekeeping. The brand became one of the best-known suppliers of marine chronometers, delivering them to navies and ship lines worldwide and contributing to science by supplying them to geodesic institutes and astronomical observatories. Ulysse Nardin is introducing seven(!) exciting new watches to their Marine Torpilleur collection to mark this moment.

Named after a type of fast and agile torpedo ship, Ulysse Nardin launched this collection in 2017, merging past and present in a timeless design. The first addition highlights another area of expertise of the brand; enamel. This Marine Torpilleur has a stunning deep blue dial of Grand Feu enamel, which is made in-house. Limited to 175 pieces, it is powered by UN-118, a Chronometer-certified automatic movement with a 60-hour power reserve. That same movement drives the Marine Torpilleur Panda, a watch that combines a white dial with blue subdials for the power reserve indicator and small seconds. It is the first time that the manufacture uses such a design, and offers a new chapter of this iconic timepiece in the history of Ulysse Nardin. The Marine Torpilleur Panda is limited to 300 pieces.

With the Annual Chronograph is Ulysse Nardin brings a watch to the Marine Torpilleur collection that combines two very popular complications. It is offered with either a blue or a white dial, with one subdial serving as a minute counter for the chronograph, while the other combines the running seconds with month indication. It is powered by caliber UN-153, with as a unique feature that the calendar can be adjusted both forward as well as backward. These watches are also limited to 300 pieces each.

Marine Torpilleur Moonphase with Grand Complication Pocket Watch from 1920
New is also the Marine Torpilleur Moonphase, which incorporates another classic complication within the line. The subdial for the running seconds features a window through which a detailed moon against the nights’ sky moves around. These watches are also available with either a blue or a white dial, each giving it a character of its own. Per dial color, they are limited to 300 pieces, both powered by manufacture caliber UN-119.

The most complex piece that joins the Marine Torpilleur collection is the tourbillon with a stunning black dial in grand feu enamel. Limited to 175 pieces and captured in a pink gold case, this watch is powered by caliber UN-128. This is quite a unique movement, as it features a constant force escapement and Ulysse Nardin’s exclusive blades technology. This also makes it the perfect fit to stand at the helm of the fantastic new watches that Ulysse Nardin introduced at this year’s Geneva Watch Days.
