These Are The Insane Bulgari High Jewelry Watches In Aeterna
Bulgari has unveiled “Aeterna,” its most extraordinary high-end high jewelry and watch collection to date. This remarkable collection, marking the Maison’s 140th anniversary, seamlessly merges Bulgari’s unparalleled creativity and craftsmanship with Swiss watchmaking expertise to present a new line of high-end watches designed to captivate and innovate.
The Aeterna collection’s standout series, Fuochi D’Artificio, pays homage to the joyful atmosphere of a starry Italian summer night, illuminated by vivid fireworks. These timepieces are a testament to Bulgari’s daring combination of precious and colored gemstones with different metals, ranging from pink and white gold to titanium and platinum. Each watch in this collection is equipped with the exclusive Bulgari Piccolissimo, the world’s smallest micro mechanical movement, exemplifying flexibility and dynamism.
One of the collection’s highlights, the Fuochi D’Artificio High Jewelry Manchette, required more than 1,450 hours to complete. This exquisite piece features a semi-rigid cuff in rose gold and blue titanium, evoking the color of the sky and contrasting beautifully with dark onyx. The watch is adorned with a sweeping variety of colorful gemstones, carefully selected and combined with sparkling diamonds and hand-cut, polished onyx inserts. The result is a stunning ode to joy, further exalted by the dynamism of its moving elements.
Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, Bulgari Watch Division Creative Director, sought to celebrate eternity through the Fenice High Jewelry Watch, a breathtaking work of art requiring over 3,000 hours to complete. This masterpiece reaffirms Bvlgari’s position as a master of colored gemstones, featuring over 160 carats of stones, including blue, pink, and purple sapphires, amethysts, rubies, pink garnets, tanzanites, iolites, aquamarines, and diamonds. These gems create an incredible degradé effect in a color palette spanning from blue and red to pink and purple.
The Fenice High Jewelry Watch conceals a rare central 9.78-carat Paraiba tourmaline, which hides the watch dial. The watch’s design features delicate and dynamic mobile feathering, embracing the wrist through a unique openwork construction that allows the mythical Phoenix to spread its wings. This splendid Phoenix, surrounded by spikes symbolizing the light of resurrection, enhances the creation’s unparalleled sparkle. The design is inspired by Gian Lorenzo Bernini’s altarpiece at the Roman church of Santa Maria della Vittoria.
“The Aeterna theme takes us on a journey through the codes and history of Bulgari. These deeply rooted signs make the brand even more eternal. By illustrating eternity with timeless mythical animals, we develop our savoir-faire and our signs throughout time, projecting Bvlgari into the future,” commented Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani.
With “Aeterna,” Bulgari continues to push the boundaries of luxury and innovation, celebrating its rich heritage while paving the way for future generations of high-end watchmaking — revealing the real relationship between high jewelry and high watchmaking.
