The Richard Mille RM 65-01 Split-Seconds Chronograph has just dropped in two new colorways just in time for summer: pastel blue Quartz TPT® and dark yellow Quartz TPT®. And while Richard Mille has certainly excelled in its technical feats, I often look at the brand as the ultimate color theorist, consistently pairing the right hues together to create a dynamic canvas.

Previously available in red gold, Carbon TPT®, titanium, and grey Quartz TPT®, these editions bring an energetic and colorful twist to the collection, evoking the azure skies and the warm hues of the sun, respectively. The RM 65-01 in pastel blue Quartz TPT® and dark yellow Quartz TPT® create a rich chromatic palette that enhances readability as the vibrant colors of the case extend into the dial. Each color on the dial is associated with a specific function, a feature that extends to the pushers and crown, ensuring intuitive operation.

The most complex automatic movement ever developed by the brand, the caliber RMAC4, is a high-frequency automatic split-seconds chronograph movement, a marvel of engineering excellence. Its high-frequency balance oscillates at 36,000 vibrations per hour (vph), ensuring formidable precision. The movement features a six-column wheel that expertly manages time measurement, a testament to Richard Mille’s relentless dedication to horological innovation. A pusher at 8 o’clock allows for rapid recharging of the spring in its fast-rotating barrel, providing the chronograph with a robust 60-hour power reserve. The function selector on the crown enables quick transitions between winding (W), date setting (D), and adjusting the hours and minutes (H).

The RM 65-01 is equipped with a high-frequency balance with variable inertia, oscillating at 36,000 vph. This precision is matched by a power reserve of 60 hours, thanks to the efficient winding system. The rapid recharge pusher at 8 o’clock and the function selector on the crown ensure that the RM 65-01 is as functional as it is beautiful.

The dark yellow Quartz TPT® version is a limited edition of just 120 pieces, adding an element of exclusivity to its already impressive resume. The brightness of the dark yellow Quartz TPT® case complements the intricate gears visible through the skeletonized dial, creating a striking visual effect that is both sophisticated and bold.

The Richard Mille RM 65-01 Automatic Split-Seconds Chronograph in pastel blue Quartz TPT® and dark yellow Quartz TPT® epitomizes the brand’s innovative spirit and commitment to excellence. These new additions promise a summer filled with precision, color, and unique horological experiences. As Richard Mille continues to push the boundaries of watchmaking, the RM 65-01 stands as a beacon of their unparalleled craftsmanship and disruptive design philosophy.
