The Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award celebrated its 25th anniversary in Hong Kong last month, where the award ceremony kicked off by honoring film director Johnnie To. Since its inception in 1992, the discerning award recognizes the work and contributions of modern day art patrons.

The worldwide celebration ceremony took place on April 26th in Venice, Italy. Afterwards, further celebrations have been hosted in 15 countries over the past few months.

The Hong Kong award ceremony was held on the fifth floor at Howard’s Gourmet. Julien Renard, Montblanc’s President for the Asia Pacific region, presented the honoree with a “Patron of Art Peggy Guggenheim” limited edition fountain pen encased in a trophy. The honoree was also presented with15,000 Euros to be donated to the “Fresh Wave” program, which was initiated by Mr. To.

The Fresh Wave” program was established ten years ago to make dreams come true for aspiring Hong Kong filmmakers. In 2010, the program transformed into an international short film festival, further fostering cultural exchange among international filmmakers.

In Hong Kong, over 100 selected guests attended the Dinner including Celebrities Andy Hui, Sammi Cheng, Anthony Wong, Wyman Wong, Jonathan Wong, Directors Ka Fai Wai & John Shum, Socialites Charles & Tiffany Heung, Wilfred & Hayley Wong, Stephen & Nancy Ip and Abraham Shek.

Inside the private lounges of the elegant venue in Hong Kong, Montblanc showcased each of the 25 Patron of Art Edition writing instruments that had been created every year since 1992 to honor historic patrons of art.

Upon arrival, guests were ushered into the Montblanc Maison to experience three exhibition rooms. Afterwards, an intimate seated dinner was hosted along the hallway in a spectacular ballroom. The white, timeless, wooden paneled walls complimented the white French windows and the lavish crystal chandeliers, creating classy, warm and cozy atmosphere.
