The Black Tie Collection’s Standout: Piaget’s Gouverneur

The Black Tie Collection’s Standout: Piaget’s Gouverneur

Piaget’s Black Tie Collection has produced a number of stunning timepieces, but our favorite of the moment is the Gouverneur. The luxury watchmakers combined technical excellence with a bold aesthetic for the standout Gouverneur.

The classic case shape merges a circle and an oval in a subtly balanced design. The 43 mm-diameter 18 carat pink-gold case houses a 642P mechanical movement and an ultra-thin (at just 4mm) hand-wound flying tourbillon with moon-phase indicator. This proprietary movement works at a frequency of 21,600 vph, affording the timepiece a 40-hour power reserve.

The dial features a silver-plated guilloché “sunburst” motif embellished with gold threads, with an astronomical moon indicator at o’clock . The hour markers are comprised of 18 carat pink gold and bear the Piaget coat-of-arms.
