TAG Heuer Launches Stunning New Version Of Carrera Calibre Heuer 02T
The Carrera Calibre Heuer 02T is a watch unlike any other. While it may be the least expensive, Swiss-made flying tourbillon with a chronograph on the market today, you wouldn’t know. No corners are cut in creating it, as is evident from the finishing, wearing comfort, and that the movement is Chronometer-certified as well. Therefore, it cannot come as a surprise that the watch has been quite a success after its introduction in 2016, and now a new addition joins the line-up.
What sets this Carrera Calibre Heuer 02T apart from its siblings is that it is fitted with a bracelet for the first time. It is crafted, just like the 45mm large case, from titanium. This gives the watch a sportive look and makes it that its overall weight remains low, ensuring that it sits comfortably around the wrist. Another first for the Carrera Calibre Heuer 02T is that it is now fitted with a full dial, minus a cut-out to showcase the flying tourbillon. TAG Heuer opted to give the dial a blue color, with a sunburst motif that offers a pleasant contrast with the silver details. By doing this, the Carrera Calibre Heuer 02T gets quite a different appearance from the previous models. While it remains a sports watch pur sang, it is slightly more understated and gives the watch even a classic touch.
The blue dial is complemented by the ceramic bezel, with tachymeter scale, and the rubber inserts of the crown and chronograph pushers. On the back, the oscillating weight of the automatic movement has been given a blue PVD coating to match the overall color as well. As a sports chronograph, the finishing of the movement is technical, dominated by a beautiful satin finish. As being said, Calibre Heuer 02T is cutting no corners, also not when it comes to performance: the chronograph is operated by a column wheel, the tourbillon is of the flying kind, the power reserve is a generous 65 hours, water resistance it set at 10ATM/100 meters and a Chronometer certification testifies the precision of the movement. To add to that is this new version also limited to 250 pieces and priced at $21,500 a steal.
