TAG Heuer Drops Limited Edition Monaco Chronograph Racing Green
Today, TAG Heuer just released the Monaco Chronograph Racing Green, a continuation of its Racing Monaco legacy, paying homage to British racing colors and motorsport heritage. This new addition to the TAG Heuer Monaco collection celebrates the iconic green liveries of British racing cars, marking a vibrant second chapter following the 2023 release of the Racing Blue edition.
The TAG Heuer Monaco, first introduced in 1969, revolutionized the watchmaking world with its square-cased, water-resistant chronograph featuring the groundbreaking Calibre 11 movement. It quickly became a symbol of racing culture, famously worn by Steve McQueen in the 1970 film Le Mans, where he embodied the authentic style of professional driver Jo Siffert. The watch’s legacy has only grown, evolving with new materials and design elements while maintaining its bold and avant-garde spirit.
This latest version, the Monaco Chronograph Racing Green, takes inspiration from the traditional British racing green, a color with deep roots in motorsports dating back to the 1903 Gordon Bennett Cup. The watch features a silver sunray-brushed dial reminiscent of vintage sports car dashboards, accented with vibrant green subdials, yellow detailing, and Super-LumiNova® markers for effortless readability. The iconic crown remains positioned at 9 o’clock, honoring the original Monaco DNA.
Powered by the automatic Calibre 11 movement, the watch is housed in a sandblasted titanium case with a sapphire caseback that reveals the intricate mechanism within. A green perforated strap and titanium clasp complete the look, blending classic gentleman aesthetics with modern sporty flair.
Limited to just 1,000 pieces, each watch is engraved with “ONE OF 1000” and presented in custom black packaging with yellow accents, making the Monaco Chronograph Racing Green the perfect companion for any gentleman driver.
