Watch industry legend Jean-Claude Biver, and Grammy Award-winning artist Swizz Beatz joined Haute Time for a conversation on life during quarantine, the watch world’s reaction to it, and more. They were hosted by Haute Living‘s Kamal Hotchandani and Seth Semilof. Hotchandani noted that it was a special treat to celebrate part of his birthday speaking with the guests, who were on opposites sides of the world. Swizz Beatz joined from his home in San Diego, California, while Biver was speaking from his own in Geneva, Switzerland.

Watch the webinar below.

Swizz Beatz is one of the most celebrated recording artists who was collaborated with artists like Beyoncé, Kanye West and more. He recently graduated from Harvard Business School.

Biver is an icon in the world of luxury timepieces, beginning his career in 1975. He led Hublot‘s creation of the “Art of Fusion“, one of the most recognizable models today, the first time to fuse two materials (gold and rubber) together on a watch.

The lively dialogue featured many noteworthy quotes from both guests.

“Use this moment to become stronger with your family,” said Swizz Beatz. “We all make up a part of what we see. If we are adding to the solution, our kids, we teach them to be responsible, practice social distancing, but we don’t scare them with the news and the negativity. We tell them things like this happen, but how we come up out of it is the most important thing.”

“In a crisis, don’t panic. Learn and analyze why it’s happening,” said Biver.

Swizz Beatz spoke lightly and humbly of philanthropic projects that he and his wife and multiple Grammy Award-winning superstar, Alicia Keys, have been involved with, before and during the current pandemic. “We love to give more than we receive. It’s unfortunate that we are in a major crisis right now. She has taught me how to use my power and my voice in raising awareness, raising money and doing the right thing. A lot of people feel that it’s only for the wealthy, but giving back is not only financial. It’s as simple as you telling somebody to have a great day. Give back any way you can.”

“I listen to Millenials and admire them because they are our future,” said Biver as he looks at the generation rising up to lead the world.

Hotchandani asked both to give a piece of advice to listeners on how to raise up from the current situation. “Listen to The Beatles song ‘All you need is love,’ once a day until you have understood what ‘love’ means,” said Biver.

Swizz Beatz said, “Take it to the next level. We have been through trials and tribulations. This won’t be the first or the last. The sky is not the limit, it’s the view. Why should the sky be our limit when there are footprints on the moon? Don’t let anyone stop you short.”
