At this year’s Watches & Wonders in Geneva, the Roger Dubuis booth put on quite the show. In true Roger Dubuis style, the space curated an experience like no other, with 528 screens that presented a show that took nearly two months to perfect. The ‘wow’ factor of the presentation set the stage for Roger Dubuis latest creations — the Excalibur Monobalancier and Knights of the Round Table Monotourbillon/X timepiece.

The Knights of the Round Table collection combines traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design creating a truly unique lineup of timepieces. The 8th edition of the Monotourbillon takes the name of the collection to heart by incorporating the equalizing round table in the timepiece’s design. Twelve knights cast in Pink Gold 750/1000 are strategically placed evenly around the center of the watch fighting against the forces of gravity with their micro-sculpted shields. Each is carefully created with different armor and accessories and varied personalities — ultimately speaking to the great legend of King Arthur.

Being the 8th edition of its kind, the watch marks a significant time in the brand’s history. While all Roger Dubuis watches are created with bold designs, this particular edition was especially important to perfect. The number 8 served as the late Roger Dubuis’ lucky number, so they wanted to ensure that this timepiece accurately reflected his legacy and the brand’s extravagant reputation. They seem to have done just that with this distinctive timepiece which has been given the exclusive Poinçon de Genève certification.

Within the circular design, the timepiece features two gold markers to effectively indicate the time. The design also features a shocking eight layers of decor, an embossed black calf-leather strap, and a 45mm Pink Gold 750/1000 case sealed by a notched bezel.
