Richard Mille Draws Inspiration From The Archives For Its New RM 12-01 Tourbillon

Richard Mille strikes again! This time, the luxury watchmaker has created the RM 12-01 Tourbillon, presented for the first time at the third annual classic car and art event called, “The Bridge, Presented by Richard Mille,” in Bridgehampton, New York. The watch, exclusive to the US,  will be available in four different styles, each limited to 18-pieces, beginning at $828,000.

Each limited-edition tripartite case combination includes Carbon TPT® and of course, the highest quality materials. Based on the award-winning RM 012 Tourbillon introduced in 2006 (it won the prestigious Aiguille d’Or award at the 2007 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève), which was a true disruptor in the watch world, the movement’s lines drew inspiration from structural forms that were architecturally-engineered, while its tubular and angled configuration provided the watch with a stiff and rigid form, allowing it to withstand environmental changes and corrosive elements.

This year’s version, the RM 12-01, a new caliber is introduced. It has a unique and technologically advanced unibody baseplate with a fused caseband and baseplate, making it one single piece, which amplifies its rigidness and resistance to impact. The baseplate has grade 5 titanium bridges while the caliber can withstand accelerations of over 5,000 g’s.

The four styles, each limited to 18 pieces, are available exclusively at Richard Mille boutiques in the US. They are: black Carbon TPT®, red Quartz TPT®, white Quartz TPT®, and gold and carbon TPT®.
