Porsche Design Launches Exclusive Chronograph 911 GT3 Watches for New Porsche 911 GT3 Owners
Since its debut in 1999, the Porsche 911 GT3 has been synonymous with uncompromising performance, race-proven technology, and exhilarating driving dynamics. Over the past 25 years, it has set new benchmarks for road-legal sports cars, winning numerous class victories in the toughest endurance races, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Nürburgring. The 2024 launch of the new models marks another chapter in this storied history, bringing state-of-the-art technology and engineering to Porsche enthusiasts worldwide.
The Chronograph 911 GT3 and Chronograph 911 GT3 Touring are engineered to reflect the essence of the vehicles they complement. Crafted from ultra-light titanium, the watch cases are available in a glass-bead blasted finish or with a sleek matte black titanium carbide coating. Each timepiece is powered by the Porsche Design caliber WERK 01.200, a COSC-certified movement with a flyback function, enabling the wearer to stop, reset, and restart the chronograph with a single push.
A unique feature of the bezel allows for customization with a pulsometer, tachymeter, or minute scale—perfect for timing laps or monitoring pulse rates. This analog functionality ensures precision without the interference of magnetic fields, mirroring the advanced engineering of the 911 GT3 itself.
The timepieces echo the cockpit of the 911 GT3, with a GT dial featuring a hexagonal structure for optimal legibility. Black rhodium-plated hour and minute hands, a yellow ring, and Super-LumiNova® luminous markers provide clear visibility, drawing a direct connection to the Sport Chrono GT instrument found in Porsche GT models. Customization options allow owners to select hand colors—Performance (white), Essence (black), or GT (yellow)—and match the colored ring around the dial with their vehicle’s exterior paint, including shades from Porsche’s Paint to Sample program.
The sapphire crystal case back reveals a custom-designed rotor shaped like the rims of the 911 GT3, available in colors such as California Gold, Brilliant Silver, Dark Silver, and Black. Owners of the Weissach Package or Lightweight Package can opt for the exclusive “911 GT3 Weissach Rotor,” with additional details like the “GT3” lettering or the Porsche Crest on the rotor cap.
The strap of the chronograph, crafted from genuine Porsche vehicle leather and yarn, can be configured to match the interior of each 911 GT3. The watch provides flexibility for different styles with options for a calfskin strap featuring a titanium folding clasp or an alternative titanium bracelet. An engraving of “GT3” at the 6 o’clock position further personalizes the watch, connecting it directly to the car.
Each timepiece is custom-built at Porsche Design’s watchmaking manufactory in Solothurn, Switzerland, reflecting Porsche’s commitment to precision and quality. Upon completion, the chronograph is presented in an exclusive limited-edition watch box, featuring a laser-engraved plaque that matches the vehicle’s specifications.
The Chronograph 911 GT3 and Chronograph 911 GT3 Touring will be available exclusively to buyers of the new Porsche 911 GT3 or 911 GT3 with Touring Package.
