Parmigiani Fleurier Expands Its Sportier Tondagraph GT Collection With New Bicolor Editions

Last year, Parmigiani Fleurier entered into a new and sportier echelon of luxury with the launch of the Tonda GT collection within its iconic Tonda line, sparking immediate success for its timeless design and versatility in daily wear. Now, the brand is introducing two new models to the collection: the Tondagraph GT Steel Silver Black and the Tondagraph GT Rose Gold Silver Black. Both hailing from the Tondagraph GT sub-family, the latest models feature the classical silver-and-black bicolor subdial style—also known as the popular ‘panda’ style—bringing modern sophistication to the design that evolves from the first generation of Tonda GT models.

Both new Tondagraph GT editions prove the desire for the sport-luxury series within the larger Parmigiani Fleurier universe of timepieces, adhering to the brand’s impeccable mechanical watchmaking and refined elegance.

Tracing their architectural ancestry, the Tonda GT models feature the same fluted bezels as the brand’s very first watch design. It further pays tribute to the brand’s DNA with the signature clou triangulaire guilloché motif and open-worked Delta-shaped hands.

The Tondagraph GT Steel Silver Black

The Tondagraph GT Steel Silver Black features a 42-mm case in a sleek polished and satin-brushed stainless steel that is water-resistant up to 100 meters. Like its predecessor with a black dial, the watch houses the automatic Caliber PF043, enabling the rare horological pairing of a chronograph with an annual calendar. The dial has rhodiumplated indexes treated with black luminescent coating, and the Delta-shaped hands display the time while the date appears prominently in a large double aperture at 12 o’clock. Subdials at 9 and 6 o’clock host the chronograph readouts, and the 3 o’clock subdial serves the dual functions of a running seconds indicator and a display of the month. The automatic movement that drives all these functions is situated behind a sapphire case back, displaying the 22k gold rotor, providing a power reserve of 45 hours, and revealing signature finishing like the côtes de Genève pattern. It is priced $21,500 on the steel bracelet, and $20,400 on the strap.

The Tondagraph GT Rose Gold Silver Black

Following last year’s Tondagraph GT Rose Gold Blue, Parmigiani Fleurier adds the Tondagraph GT Rose Gold Silver Black. Similar to the new steel model, it is offered in both an integrated, ergonomically crafted bracelet ($72,500) or a textured black rubber strap ($45,300). At 42 mm in diameter, its 18k rose gold case boasts a meticulous array of polished and brushed finishing, and its fluted bezel frames the striking, high-contrast dial. Visible through a sapphire caseback is the in-house Caliber PF071, a COSC chronometer-certified movement based on Parmigiani’s groundbreaking and GPHG-award-winning Caliber PF36. It’s a high-frequency movement with 36,000 vph oscillation speed, meaning the watch can measure intervals up to 1/10 second, while storing a 65-hour power reserve—which few modern sport chronograph calibers can achieve this level of accuracy.

The integrated chronograph function uses a column wheel rather than a cam—for smoother operation—and a vertical clutch, which increases accuracy by enabling the chronograph to start without an initial jolt. Though this Tondagraph does not include an annual calendar function, it features the big date as an additional integrated feature, rather than a modular addition. As with any Parmigiani Fleurier movements, it is enhanced with hand chamfering and polishing, sandblasted surfaces, a sunray pattern on the 22k gold rotor, and exquisitely hand-finished bridges.
