Luxury watchmakers Omega welcomed Nicole Kidman to Vienna this weekend, where the actress helped launch the new Ladymatic collection. Kidman, who has been the “face of Ladymatic” for the last three years, introduced a new multi-media campaign during an events throughout the weekend.

The festivities began with an event at the Gartenpalais Liechtenstein, a museum containing the collections of the Princely Family of Liechtenstein, who rule the principality of Liechtenstein (a country bordered by Switzerland and Austria). Omega president Stephen Urquhart helped Kidman welcome more than 250 guests, who arrived to see the opulent palace lit up with images from the new advertising campaign. The evening kicked off with a cocktail party in the palace’s entry hall, which was decorated as an enchanted forest, and a dinner in the upstairs dining room. Guests were treated to a choreographed dance performance before the party moved back to the ground floor, where Australian singer Shelley Harland performed the “In the Dark” song featured in the new Ladymatic television commercials.

The following day, Kidman met with journalists at Vienna’s historic Postal Savings Bank, a famous modernist building designed by Austrian architect Otto Wagner in 1903. There, Kidman spoke about her position as an Omega ambassador; “When they approached me I was honoured. I was impressed by what a great company they are. The company is amazing to work for – they take great care of you. They are also committed to philanthropic activities and have been very supportive of my work with UN Women. After all these years, we know each other very well and it’s a great relationship. I’ve realized that particularly as you get older, time is the most precious thing. You can’t buy it; you can’t get it back. Really, it’s the most important thing. These days, I’m always aware of how I allocate my time in terms of films and family life.”

To wrap up the weekend, Kidman and Urquhart visited the Omega boutique at Stock-im-Eisen-Platz, in central Vienna. The Oscar-winning actress’ campaign photos, taken by fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh, were on display throughout the 400m² boutique. After a tour of the space, Kidman autographed a Ladymatic watch which will be auctioned off in January 2014 in support of Licht ins Dunkel, an Austrian charity which raises money for people with a disabilities, with a primary focus on helping children.
