The new Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC is a luscious car, inside and out.

The SUV combines the body design and technical basis of the GLS with the comforts and luxury of top-class sedans, with which Mercedes-Benz is well acquainted.

Spacious interiors provide an enjoyable ride for all occupants. Passengers have an elevated seating position and can electronically control sun blinds on each of the rear side windows.

When a door is opened, the car is slightly lowered and an illuminated running board made of anodized aluminum emerges on the respective side, providing easy and safe access.

The V8 engine comes with four liters. It can produce up to 550 hp and 538 lb-ft of torque. It was made exclusively for the Maybach. It combines with the 48-volt system EQ Boost.

Leading the way as always is the Mercedes-Benz star on the hood. The grille has vertical chrome struts that create a pinstripe effect. The wheels (22- or 23-inch) were also developed as an exclusive for the model. Two-tone paintwork is available in eight different color combinations for the GLS 600.

“The unique combination of comfort, technology and luxury. The great spaciousness, especially in the second seat row, and the use of materials are just two examples. Attention to detail also makes a difference,” says Martin Hülder, Director of Product Management Mercedes-Maybach since November 2014, on the distinction of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS from other luxury SUVs. “Think of the electronically extending running boards, which have ergonomic advantages when entering and leaving the vehicle. Their design is classically Mercedes-Maybach: fully integrated into the side sill panels, they are not visible in the retracted position. There is also the very high standard of design, which for example includes louvres in a pinstripe design and illuminated surfaces – which makes getting in a real experience.”

The two outer rear seats can be electronically converted into reclining seats. Padded areas and the dashboard are finished in fine Nappa leather, with a range of further cushions and leather interior linings available on request. An electronic panoramic sliding/tilting sunroof with an opaque roller blind is standard, as are heated and ventilated massaging seats.

The multiple comfort and entertainment functions can be easily managed from the rear seats thanks to the MBUX Rear Tablet located in the center console or armrest between the rear seats.
