Watch of the Week: Kevin O’Leary’s New H. Moser & Cie. Endeavour Tourbillon Vantablack
Haute Time’s former cover star, Kevin O’Leary, has added a striking new timepiece to his collection with the H. Moser & Cie. Endeavour Tourbillon Vantablack — fitted with the custom red straps in true O’Leary fashion, of course.
This timepiece boasts a dial made from Vantablack®, the blackest material known to man, offering a level of darkness that’s truly mesmerizing. The watch’s design adheres to the philosophy of “less is more,” with a starkly black dial that forgoes any logos, markers, or embellishments, allowing the hypnotic tourbillon to take center stage. The Vantablack® dial, composed of millions of carbon nanotubes that capture 99.965% of light photons, creates a visually stunning effect akin to peering into a black hole.
The H. Moser Endeavour Tourbillon Vantablack features a white gold case with a diameter of 42.0 mm, offering a substantial yet elegant presence on the wrist. Powered by the HMC 804 automatic tourbillon movement, this watch is engineered to maintain impeccable timekeeping precision. The movement employs a one-minute flying tourbillon and a patented double hairspring system, mitigating the adverse effects of gravity on accuracy. The tourbillon, a marvel of horological engineering, continuously rotates around a central axis to eliminate positional errors.
With a power reserve of 72 hours and water resistance up to 3 ATM, this timepiece offers both functionality and style. Originally launched last year, the Endeavour Tourbillon Vantablack comes with a black alligator strap. However, Kevin O’Leary, known for his discerning taste, has added his personal touch by commissioning custom red kudu and alligator straps for his own piece, showcasing his commitment to making his watch truly unique.
The H. Moser & Cie. Endeavour Tourbillon Vantablack is a testament to the enduring appeal of high-quality craftsmanship and design in the world of horology — qualities parallel to O’Leary.
