Haute Spotting: Kevin Hart Rocks An Incredibly Rare Audemars Piguet During The “LIFT” Press Tour
It’s been quite the week for former Haute Time cover star, Kevin Hart, as he has been on a press tour promoting his latest project, “LIFT,” which just debuted on Netflix today. An American heist comedy film directed by F. Gary Gray and written by Daniel Kunka, “LIFT” follows a master thief and her ex-boyfriend as they join forces to pull off a daring heist to steal $100 million in gold bullion during a 777 passenger flight. The movie boasts an impressive ensemble cast featuring Hart (who also served as a producer), Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Vincent D’Onofrio, Úrsula Corberó, Billy Magnussen, Jacob Batalon, Jean Reno, and Sam Worthington, among others.
Hart has been spotted throughout his press tour this week, most recently on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, rocking one watch in particular: the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Openworked Extra-Thin 40th Anniversary in Platinum. Hart is undoubtedly a ‘one-to-watch’ in the horological world, sporting insane timepieces from his collection, from his beloved repertoire of Rolex Daytonas to his Patek Philippe Aquanaut Travel Time (Ref. 5650G). Yet, this Audemars Piguet Royal Oak has taken a front-row seat to Hart’s press tour; a coincidence? We don’t think so. In fact, we’re tuning into “LIFT” tonight to do some serious watch spotting.
A limited-edition masterpiece, introduced in 2012, this AP watch is encased in platinum 950, boasting a 39mm diameter and a slim 8.1mm thickness. Its skeleton dial features a peripheral chapter ring, white gold hour and minute hands adorned with luminescent elements, and a transparent sapphire caseback that reveals its inner workings.
At the heart of the timepiece lies the Caliber 5122, an ultra-thin self-winding movement. Notably, its oscillating weight is crafted from 22k gold and showcases the brand’s logo, a commemorative depiction, and an intricate tapisserie motif along the rim. With a power reserve of up to 40 hours, this timepiece effortlessly combines form and function. Its primary functions include the indication of hours and minutes, with a discreet date aperture discreetly positioned at 3 o’clock.
Completing this exceptional creation is the Royal Oak bracelet, meticulously crafted in platinum, and secured with Audemars Piguet’s fourth-generation triple folding clasp in platinum. As a testament to its exclusivity, this masterpiece is part of a limited edition comprising only 40 pieces worldwide, making it a true collector’s item and — candidly — perfect for Hart’s wrist.
