Jaeger-LeCoultre Unveils the Hybris Artistica Collection in New York
Last night in New York City, Haute Time got a sneak peek at the Jaeger-LeCoultre Hybris Artistica collection. The manufacture hosted a private dinner and preview at the Nomad Hotel, where we had the chance to see these one-of-a-kind creations.
The Hybris Artistica collection, which features artistic and jewelry interpretations of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s most powerful creations, was on display in a private cupola on the roof of the Nomad. The collection’s beauty was further highlighted by fashion illustrator Katie Rodgers of Paper Fashion, who painted stunning watercolor versions of the timepieces on display.
While the Hybris Artistica collection will make its official debut today at New York’s Time Crafters exhibition, we’re bringing you an exclusive first look:
This is the first time a Sphérotourbillon has been included in a pocket watch. At first, the attention is drawn by the sheer size of the case, which is 48mm, then by the sleek blue enamel bezel. This deep blue enriches both the white enamel of the three subdials and the hand-engraved main plate.
The dial of this piece showcases the Sphérotourbillon and a transparent tourbillon bridge. The deep blue dial features miniature strips of silver or “spangles” inlaid into the enamel. The Sphérotourbillon is also visible via a transparent window in the case when viewed from the side.
Like the enamel version pictured above, this Duomètre Sphérotourbillon features a unique dial, this time in hand-engraved 18K white gold.
A stunning display of inventiveness from Jaeger-LeCoultre’s artisans,this piece draws on rare skills such as enameling, guillochage, rock setting and garnishing. It features an enchanting blue lapis lazuli dial and pure white diamonds.
The dial of this piece features an orbital flying tourbillon and a full chart of the sky, as seen from the northern hemisphere. The Sun completes a revolution around the dial every 24 hours, thus indicating not only the time in 24 hours but also the signs of the zodiac, the days and the months, shown on a circular scale around the edge of the dial.
This completely diamond-clad ladies’ timepiece showcases the incredible work of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s artisans. The diamonds are pressed together and blocked in place by the last stone set, with no claws to interrupt the surface or aesthetic.
Three details on this unique watch immediately attract the attention: the domed form of the glass, the bold aperture at 6 o’clock and the skeletonized aventurine dial.
Housed in a masculine 43.5mm case, this piece features a hand-hammered ruthenium dial and a tantalum case in a stunning grey-blue color.
This 39mm ladies’ piece not only features a tourbillon, it is also covered in precious stones from the bracelet to the case, bezel and dial.
The rock crystal dial of this piece reveals its gear train, plus the perfectly orchestrated functioning of the 1,400 components of its hand-wound mechanism. A carillon mechanism produces the original chimes of Big Ben.
