IWC Schaffhausen Names Jessica Kahawaty Brand Ambassador
In Lebanese-Australian celebrity Jessica Kahawaty IWC Schaffhausen found its new brand ambassador for the Middle East.
A years-long admirer of Swiss luxury horologer IWC, Kahawaty now joins a star-studded cohort of brand ambassadors, including GT Racer HRH Prince Abdulaziz Turki Al Faisal, TV host Raya Abirached, Bollywood star Sonam Kapoor and actress Hend Sabri.
“IWC Schaffhausen timepieces are some of the best in the industry,” said Kahawaty in a press release on the occasion. “As a fan of the brand, it is an exciting and very proud moment for me to have been selected as a brand ambassador for the region.”
Model, television personality, philanthropist and human rights advocate, 28-year old Kahawaty rose to fame in 2012, when, after winning Miss World Australia, she became the second runner-up at the global edition.
This, however, was not Kahawaty’s first foray into beauty pageants. Four years earlier, she held another Miss World title, that of Miss Lebanon World 2008. She also represented the country at Miss International 2008, finishing among the top 12.
Since then, Kahawaty, whose modeling career spans numerous fashion shows and magazine spreads, has brought her stunning looks to television. Last year, she hosted the Middle Eastern version of “Project Runway,” the popular American modeling competition led by Heidi Klum. She also heads Yahoo! Maktoob’s “omg! NOW and “omg! NUJOOM” entertainment shows.
A prominent figure in the beauty and fashion world, Kahawaty’s verve stretch much further than vogue. Wielding her fame, she has endorsed various causes on clean water, education and children’s rights.
Watchmaking has also ticked among Kahawaty’s interests, earning her IWC’s invitation to represent its high-end creations.
Jessica shares our passion for watchmaking,” said Luc Rochereau, IWC regional brand director, “and with her renown and good work that she has done, she is the perfect fit for IWC Schaffhausen.”
