Introducing The New Galop d’Hermes

Introducing The New Galop d’Hermes

Hermes is known for its subtle and timeless designs. Interesting is that they are never truly classic creations, but always seem to possess a certain ‘lightness’ in their design of which the passing of time doesn’t seem to have any grip on. New models are therefor added sparingly, and a whole new collection is a rarity, yet with the new Galop d’Hermes, the brand is introducing an exciting new creation.

Galop d’Hermes
For its design, Hermes collaborated with Ini Archibong, who is, in fact, a furniture and lighting designer. His skills in these fields are also translated into the design of the Galop d’Hermes, as the dial has two levels, each with a finish of their own, which creates a subtle, yet great play of light. The numerals, which follow the curve of the case, add a dynamic sense to it, which is neither too prominent nor too delicate. The result is very balanced, and in that matter, the greatest compliment that can be given to this watch is that it doesn’t look like a new creation, but more like something that has been part of the Hermes collection for years.

Galop d’Hermes
This is perhaps also due to the fact that the Galop d’Hermes truly embodies the DNA of the brand. It features a stir-up style case, with a rather narrow strap. This strap is perfectly integrated into the case design at the top, but at the bottom, it leaves plenty of room for the lugs to be shown. This gives a subtle nod to the world of horse riding, which forms the foundation of Hermes.

Galop d’HermesThe Galop d’Hermes is as of now available in the boutiques, in either stainless steel or 18k rose gold. Both versions are also offered in a diamond set version in which the bezel is adorned with 150 brilliant-cut, colorless diamonds, amplifying the distinct shape of this Hermes even more.
