Introducing The Hublot MP-05 LaFerrari Sapphire
In 2013, Hublot brought the luxury watch world to its knees with the MP-05 LaFerrari, a loving tribute to the eponymous supercar that sports a unique and complex architecture and a record-breaking movement. An incredible technical feat, the design of the LaFerrari was created through a close collaboration between Hublot watchmakers and Ferrari’s Design Director, Flavio Manzoni. The movement was fully designed, developed and produced by Hublot Manufacture engineers and watchmakers, and boasts the highest number of components of a Hublot timepiece to date, numbering 637 in all.
Now, with the LaFerrari Sapphire, Hublot has taken the previous piece and suspended it in a clear sapphire case, allowing its movement to be viewed at every angle. A technical achievement almost as impressive as the movement itself, the case middle is crafted from seven components machined from solid blocks of Sapphire. The entire process took over 600 hours to complete. The eye-catching piece is paired with a transparent silicone strap with a clasp and also features components crafted from sapphire.
“Today the All Clear concept pays tribute to our proprietary calibres and to all the watchmaking expertise that Hublot has developed over the last decade. “Visible invisibility”, a philosophy which has culminated in success for Hublot,” says Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe.
The Hublot MP-05 LaFerrari Sapphire is limited to only 20 pieces. Incredibly, all 20 were sold within 72 hours at Hublot Geneva Days.
