hublot movie premiere at Ace hotel

Hublot invited its VIP clients to experience the luxury Swiss watch brand’s first ever movie, MP-05 LaFerrari Sapphire: A Tribute to the FXX K. The animated film features innovative special effects worthy of Hollywood’s top blockbusters, starring the 1200 HP hybrid supercar, the FXX K, and the Hublot superwatch with a world record-breaking 50-day power reserve.

Hublot Drive-in

On the rooftop of Hollywood’s Ace Museum, Hublot and friends experienced a real digital revolution, walking into the space that was decked out in futuristic style with décor that transformed the space into a drive-in cinema, creating a beautiful contrast between old-school style with a taste of the future. At show-time, guests took to their seats in the luxurious Ferraris to watch a sneak preview of a world premiere.

The sneak peek of the movie featured contrasting viewpoints from the watch to the car, first showing a high-tech laboratory where a 3D scanner appears along with a countdown clock displaying 50 seconds, then transitions to the FXX K speeding through a lap of the circuit, passing through a number of scanners. The high-intensity, digitally rich film continues to juxtapose the two stars of the movie in this way, bringing forth the intricate and complex nature of the two super-powered machines.

CEO of Hublot Ricardo Guadalupe attended the event and notes that the movie is, “A first among firsts. “LaFerrari” Sapphire brings together the best and most cutting-edge technology – in the construction of the watch and its movement, the FXX K supercar that provided its inspiration, and now in the digital revolution provided by the best and most famous animated film studio, Digital Domain. So I know this watch by heart, every feature, every detail, the film literally plunged me into sensations that I have never felt before. I feel as if I am this watch, this car; I am speed, technology, invention, the record!”
