Hublot Goes For The Gold With The New Big Bang Unico Full Magic Gold
Hublot is celebrating a significant milestone as its iconic timepiece, the Big Bang, turns eighteen this year. The Big Bang has not only created its own distinctive style, spirit, and technical achievements but has also fostered a dedicated community of watch enthusiasts and collectors. Despite its age, the Big Bang continues to exude a youthful and carefree aura that remains as captivating as when it was first introduced in 2005.

With the Big Bang Unico Full Magic Gold, the brand returns to its roots, showcasing the essence of its Manufacture in a timepiece that captures attention and captivates the imagination. At its core, the Big Bang retains its instantly recognizable features. The iconic 44 mm case, the “sandwich” construction, large pushers, and the bezel adorned with six visible and unaligned screws contribute to its powerful and disruptive aesthetic. The skeleton dial, Arabic numerals, and skeleton Big Bang hands reveal the manufacture chronograph movement, the self-winding UNICO 2.

However, the true transformation lies in the exterior of the watch. Hublot elevates the Big Bang to a new level, epitomizing strength, brilliance, and innovation. Magic Gold, an exclusive alloy developed by Hublot, takes center stage in this limited edition of 200 pieces. The Magic Gold is featured on both the case and bezel, creating a striking contrast against the satin-finished and microblasted 3N gold indices, counters, and hands. The titanium pushers, guards, screws, and rubber strap complete the ensemble in a deep black tone.

Magic Gold is the result of a fusion between 24-carat gold and the cutting-edge mastery of ceramic. This patented material is scratchproof and unalterable, boasting a hardness surpassing traditional gold and hardened steel. With its unique composition of gold and ceramic, Magic Gold can only be scratched by diamond, ensuring its enduring allure.
Powered by the new UNICO 2 manufacture movement (HUB 1280), this timepiece offers enhanced precision, a power reserve of 72 hours, and a 2-year warranty (extended to 3 years with registration). The UNICO 2 introduces a gentler and quieter winding system, eliminates jumping and quivering in the chronograph function, and improves shock resistance. It maintains the open-worked design and iconic “H” for Hublot, beloved by collectors while requiring less maintenance and offering superior operational efficiency.

Hublot’s Big Bang Unico Full Magic Gold is a testament to the brand’s unwavering commitment to pushing boundaries — and this time, going for the gold (quite literally). “[This is] a major milestone for Hublot, but also for the industry, in that it created not only its own look, spirit, universe, and technical achievements but also its own large community of fans and collectors. At the same time, at 18, it remains as fresh and carefree as the day it was released. The Big Bang still has a lot to say. The proof is in this “Full Magic Gold” version, which truly embodies the essence of our Manufacture.” — Ricardo Guadalupe, the CEO of Hublot.
