Hublot Launches Spectacular Red Ceramic Version Of Orlinski Chronograph
When it comes to making ceramic, Hublot is one of the masters in this field. While crafting the material itself is not too complicated, it is very hard to give it a vibrant color. As Hublot likes nothing better than a good challenge, they created this material in bold red and used it for the latest addition to the collection that they have developed in collaboration with contemporary artist Richard Orlinski.
Red is an important color for Orlinksi as he uses it frequently in many of his sculptures, among them most notably the first Born Wild Crocodile sculpture from 2004. The color seems to underscore his trademark, angular style and this also becomes clear when you see the Classic Fusion Chronograph Orlinski Red Ceramic. The brand and the artist went all in on red, as also the strap and even the hands and hour indexes sport this color. It is however balanced out beautifully by the black screws on the bezel, the black crown and chronograph pushers, as well as the skeletonized movement.
The watch itself measures 45mm in diameter and is powered by automatic chronograph caliber HUB1155. The red ceramic case makes the watch not only light to wear but also highly scratch resistant. In fact, the red version of this material even has an increased hardness. This is due to the unique process that Hublot created completely in-house and which is protected by several patents. That makes the Classic Fusion Chronograph Orlinski Red Ceramic art on several levels.
Hublot opted to have the case polished, which gives the red ceramic a very luscious look. The sapphire crystal has an anti-reflective coating, which makes it possible to read the dial under different angles and light conditions easily. The back is also fitted with such a sapphire crystal, allowing you to admire also that side of the movement. The Classic Fusion Chronograph Orlinski Red Ceramic will be limited to 200 pieces.
