The Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, or GPHG, is often compared to the watchmaking versions of the Oscar’s. Rightfully so, because winning not only comes with glory and recognition but can also positively impact the sales of a particular watch. Recently the preselected watches have been announced and among them are two Hublots.

Hublot Unico GMT
Big Bang Unico GMT
In the category “Travel Time” one of the contestants is the Big Bang Unico GMT. This watch already got quite some attention upon its introduction thanks to the very convenient way of changing the second timezone: simply press the button! Thanks to a patented invention, Hublot created a module for the Unico movement that made this possible.

This is not the only aspect in which the Big Bang Unico GMT caters to the traveler. Its dial is extremely legible, making it not only easy to tell time, but also to make the distinction between local time and home time. A day and night indicator further clarifies am/pm for the home time zone. All this is encased in that typical Big Bang case, which looks slightly more robust due to the prominent bezel that supports the second time zone indication.

Techframe Ferrari 70 Years Tourbillon Chronograph
Also, the collaboration between Hublot and Ferrari got recognized with the selection of the Techframe Ferrari 70 Years Tourbillon Chronograph, in the “Sport” category. Unique about this watch is that it is not only dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the prancing horse, but also designed by Ferrari themselves, under the leadership of Head of Design Flavio Manzoni.

Not only does it combine the DNA of both brands, but it also features an impressive array of complications. A mono-pusher chronograph, operated by a very cool looking red lever, is fitted in a flying tourbillon. It also features an impressive power reserve of 115 hours.

Before the ceremony of the GPHG will be held at the Théâtre du Léman in Geneva on November 8, 2017, the watches will travel around the world, visiting Mexico and Taiwan, as well as being presented during the Dubai Watch Week.
