Hublot Casts A Spell On Harrods With The Classic Fusion Aerofusion Moonphase Black Magic

Things have been getting complicated at Hublot lately. Following the success of the Big Bang, which brought in-house movements to Hublot, the brand has been introducing a string of high-end complications, including the award winning Classic Fusion Tourbillon Cathedral Minute Repeater, the brand’s first chiming watch.

This year, Hublot returned to the Classic Fusion collection to introduce its first moon-phase watch. Unveiled in both Titanium and King Gold back in January, the Classic Fusion Aerofusion Moonphase combines the contemporary architecture of a skeleton watch with a classic moon phase indication in natural mother-of-pearl.

But the master of the “Art of Fusion” was not quite done with the new watch. Ending the year in style, it turned to its trump card to unveil an all-black version made in ceramic. A modern take on the moon phase, the Classic Fusion Aero Moon Black Magic features a full calendar, with day and month indications at 12 o’clock, and a moon phase set against an aventurine glass sky display at 6 o’clock.

The watch carries a bold personality, although it might be one of the most refined watches in the Hublot collection. It remains fashionably large at 45mm, although the slim Classic Fusion, black alligator strap, and elegant satin and polished finish on the case and bezel make it the perfect formal-wear watch. The Hublot Classic Fusion Aerofusion Moonphase Black Magic is available in the Fine Watch Room at Harrods exclusively throughout December, and is priced at £13,400.
