Haute Time’s Hottest Ladies Watches Of 2020

Haute Time’s Hottest Ladies Watches Of 2020

By Martin Green December 30, 2020

One trend that remained in 2020 is that ladies’ watches are no longer smaller men’s watches with diamonds. More and more brands continued to strengthen their line-up in this category, often with vast amounts of creativity. Quartz movements are also not the standard anymore, as mechanical calibers are becoming increasingly more popular in this category. The following watches are among our favorites of this year.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Caliber 101 Bangle
In 1929, Jaeger-LeCoultre created one of the smallest mechanical movements, measuring 14 mm in length, 4.8 mm in width, and just 3.4 mm thick. Weighing only a gram is this movement one of the most significant achievements in watchmaking history. Jaeger-LeCoultre used it this year in a unique creation that combined it with beautiful brilliant-cut diamonds in a bangle-style watch. With its asymmetrical design is this timepiece a real eye-catcher, in which the dial is perfectly integrated. The pink gold gives a warm contrast with the diamonds and makes this a truly timeless creation.

Richard Mille RM 71-02 Automatic Tourbillon Talisman
Gemstones also play a large role in the new RM 71-02 of which Richard Mille will make no less than ten different versions. Each of them features a different design, utilizing some of the most spectacular colored gemstones in its intricate patterns. They all have in common that they are powered by caliber CRMT1, which was launched in 2018 as Mille’s first automatic tourbillon. That makes the RM 71-02 Automatic Tourbillon Talisman a true delight, inside and out, and underscores the importance Mille gives to its watch collection for ladies.

Hublot Marc Ferrero

Hublot Big Bang One Click 39mm Marc Ferrero
Artist Marc Ferrero teamed up with Hublot once again and created two delightful versions of the Big Bang One Click featuring his most famous work; Lipstick. Available in either black or white, they represent day and night, with the red-colored lips as the only dash of color. Ferrero’s graphic style is not only featured on the dial, highlighted by a diamond-set bezel, but also extends to the strap. This shows once more how good Hublot is at collaborations, finding true synergy in them, which in this case unites the expressive style of Ferrero perfectly with the DNA of the brand.

Patek Philippe Twenty~4
After the success of the ’round’ models with automatic movements took Patek Philippe this year the Twenty~4 back to its roots. With its distinct rectangle shape, it is immediately apparent that this is a direct descendant of the ladies’ watch that took the luxury world by storm in 1999. The most distinct difference is the dial, which now features Arabic numerals and hour markers filled with luminous material. The hands are also of a bolder design, which, combined with the new dial colors, give the Twenty~4 a younger look, ensuring that it will also remain a Patek Philippe bestseller for years to come.

Hermès Arceau Harnais français remix
We are no stranger to porcelain dials, but the heights to which Hermès took it this year with the Arceau Harnais français remix is unsurpassed. Not only the depth but also the use of color turn the watch into a vibrant creation. It was inspired by a vintage scarf design, which was in turn based on an oil painting from the private collection of Émile Hermès himself. The horses are carved out of an unglazed plate of Limoges porcelain, after which the colors are applied. Being enamel, it means that the porcelain dial needs to be fired consecutive times, each time with the risk of ruining the dial altogether.
