Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Moon

It is hard to imagine that a watch like the Reverso could become even more successful. With the creation of the “Reverso Tribute”-collection, this is exactly what happened. Inspired by the models from the early years of the Reverso-dynasty, the watches had a sense of style that was simply hard to resist. Over the last couple of years, Jaeger-LeCoultre has slowly and steadily expanded the collection and recently added the Reverso Tribute Moon to it.

Despite being inspired by a model from 1931, the Reverso Tribute Moon looks surprisingly modern. The steel case helps, as do the blued hands and hour indexes. With a case measuring 49.4 mm X 29.9 mm the watch has a comfortable size, and with a thickness of 10.9 mm it is rather slim. This is one of the hallmarks of the Reverso Tribute collection, and probably a significant contributor to its success.

Within the grained finish of the silvered dial, is the moon phase. As we are accustomed, this is well executed by Jaeger-LeCoultre, who did not only put a few stars on the rotating disc but displayed stars of various sizes to create a better impression of the night sky. Even the moon has a texture to it, and it is the thought and effort in details like this that make the Reverso Tribute Moon a truly luxurious watch. Around the moon phase aperture is a pointer date. A blued hand with a red painted crescent moon indicates the current date and is one of the elements on this watch that grabs back to the designs of the earlier Reverso models.

This all would make a great watch, but that is not all for the Reverso Tribute Moon. The watch is, in fact, a “Duo”, meaning that when you reverse the case, there is a second time zone which is powered by the same manual wind movement. With a deep blue Clous de Paris design with in the middle an opaline finish for the dial, it completely changes the look of the Reverso Tribute Moon. On this side, the second time zone is displayed, with a day-night indicator at six o’clock.

With the Reverso Tribute Moon, Jaeger-LeCoultre has found a way to strengthen this collection even further. It is a meaningful addition that fits right in between the Reverso Tribute Calendar and the Reverso Tribute Duo. The only downside is that choosing between all of them just have become significantly more difficult.
