Grand Seiko Adds Two New Sleek Models To Its Heritage Collection: The SBGW291 & SBGW293

Today, Grand Seiko introduces two new timepieces to its legendary Heritage Collection. Marking a first in the brand’s history, the new SBGW291 and SBGW293 are the first continuous production of Grand Seiko watches to feature the 44GS mid-sized case design measuring 36.5 mm — making it the smallest 44GS design in the collection.

As reinterpretations of the original 44GS design, the new models catapult the classic design into the modern era while honoring the ethos of the Grand Seiko Style. From the Zaratsu polished mirror surfaces and hairline finishes to the angle of the case and the shape of the 12 o’clock index and the dial’s flatness, these timepieces reflect the nine elements that define the Grand Seiko Style.

The SBGW291 features a cool silver sunray dial, and the SBGW293 boasts a rich chocolatey-brown sunray dial — each fitted with a sophisticated crocodile leather strap. Inside, both timepieces are powered by the signature hand-wound Caliber 9S64.
