Grand Seiko Launches Stunning New Watch In Collaboration With Watches of Switzerland
Today Grand Seiko launched in collaboration with Watches of Switzerland an exciting new watch, the Toge Special Edition. This watch embodies elements from both Japan, as well as the United Kingdom, the home country of the watch retailer. It features many unique elements, most noticeably its dial, which has Grand Seiko‘s signature Mount Iwate motif, yet now in British racing green. It is combined with a warm gold tone for the GMT-function, which gives the watch a dynamic appearance, as well as making it very easy to read.
The beautiful dial is captured in a case created by celebrated Grand Seiko Chief Designer Nobuhiro Kosugi. With its curved lugs, and very well proportioned bezel does it get a timeless appearance. Inside we find Grand Seiko’s manufacture caliber 9S66, an automatic movement with a GMT-function, and a generous power reserve of 72-hours. The movement can be admired through the glass caseback. As a finishing touch is the Toge Special Edition fitted with a brown crocodile leather strap, with green stitching to match the color of the dial. A folding clasp not only adds wearing comfort but also secures this very special watch safely on the wrist.
In a first of its kind technology, the Toge Special Edition can be virtually experienced through the IG Filter. This allows people to experience the new Grand Seiko from the comfort of their own home, whenever they want. While the new watch is not a limited edition, its production volume will be very low and exclusively available through Watches of Switzerland boutiques and select Mayors stores. The Toge Special Edition is available for pre-order today, either in-store or through the website, and will retail for $5,200 USD.
