Girard-Perregaux Drops The Casquette 2.0 Saint Laurent 02

After an incredibly successful launch last June, Girard-Perregaux and Saint Laurent have done it again with the release of the Casquette 2.0 Saint Laurent 02. This new iteration of the classic Casquette watch, originally launched in 1976, marks a sophisticated evolution that stays true to the brand’s heritage while embracing modern technology and design.

The original Casquette, introduced in 1976, was revolutionary with its quartz movement and avant-garde design. Celebrated for its futuristic tubular LED display, the watch was a bold departure from traditional timepieces, available in materials like steel, gold-plated steel, and Makrolon, a durable composite.

Building on the success of last year’s collaboration with Saint Laurent Rive Droite, which reimagined the Casquette in a sleek black ceramic and titanium design, Girard-Perregaux has now unveiled the Casquette 2.0 Saint Laurent 02. This latest model is crafted from Grade 5 titanium, a high-tech, lightweight alloy known for its strength, stiffness, and resistance to corrosion and magnetism.

The partnership between Girard-Perregaux and Saint Laurent Rive Droite continues to flourish. This collaboration merges the meticulous craftsmanship of Girard-Perregaux with the cutting-edge style of Saint Laurent, resulting in a timepiece that is both innovative and stylish. Anthony Vaccarello has re-edited the Casquette in a limited edition, presenting it in striking silver-grey tones.

The Casquette 2.0 Saint Laurent 02 is powered by the Caliber GP3980, a quartz movement that offers an array of functions including hours, minutes, seconds, day, date, month, year, chronograph, second time zone, and a ‘secret date’ for personal milestones. The ergonomic design of the titanium case ensures a comfortable fit on the wrist, enhanced by a matching Grade 5 titanium bracelet with a rubber lining and micro-adjustment for a perfect fit.
