From The Archives: Four Amazing Pictures
A picture can sometimes say more than a thousand words. At Haute Time, we have the privilege of having the world’s most exclusive, rare, desirable, and expensive watches in front of the lenses of our camera’s. Over the years this has resulted in an archive filled with the most amazing photos; time for a little flashback!
Hublot MP-05 LaFerrari Aperta
Hublot and Ferrari have been collaborating very successfully now for quite some time, and over the years this has resulted in the most amazing watches. To be honest, there is nothing quite like having the MP-05 LaFerrari Aperta around the wrist. While it is a micro-mechanical powerhouse, with its suspended vertical tourbillon and a 50-day power reserve, it is quite light to wear. While its movement is impressive, its the case of polished smoked sapphire crystal that takes it to the next level.
Richard Mille RM 030
Talking about smoked; when taking watches into the studio, there is all of a sudden the time and space to play with the images. The Richard Mille RM 030 still represents the essence of the brand and is for sure one smokin’ hot watch. But it is not only its looks that contribute to this, but also its advanced declutching rotor system. When the spring is fully wound, the barrel is automatically disconnected from the winding system, and when the power reserve drops to 40 hours, it is connected again. This has the advantage that the movement always runs with an optimum of torque, making it even more precise.
Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Gyrotourbillon 1
There is a reason that Jaeger-LeCoultre is among the most revered Swiss watch manufactures, as they have a legacy of creating to most astonishing movements. The Gyrotourbillon 1 was one of the very first multi-axis tourbillons on the market, but even then the brand likes to push the envelope just a little further. In this case, they do that with a setting of baguette cut diamonds on the case as well as the crown of the watch, but also with a marquetry dial. Here an intricate layout of aventurine, a deep blue glass-like material that resembles the night sky, makes the Gyrotourbillon 1 even more breathtaking.
F.P. Journe
Sometimes it is not a watch, but a movement that captures our attention. With F.P. Journe that happens almost all the time, because not only do his calibers have an intriguing layout, they are also crafted from gold and finished to perfection. That makes them a delight to look at, but even more so to photograph.
