Doha Jewellery And Watches Exhibition Opens Its Doors To an Enthusiastic And Discerning Public

The thirteenth edition of Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition (DJWE) opened its doors today  to an enthusiastic and increasingly knowledgeable public that includes collectors and admirers of fine craftsmanship, eager to discover the outstanding creations on display.  With the Qatari turnout expected to exceed last year’s entry figures in this country where 14% of households are dollar millionaires, visitors from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, other GCC countries and beyond are expected to arrive later this week.

Held at the West Bay’s new Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) that boasts superb lighting, a central location, and a floor area increased by 16% over last year to more than 29,000 sqm, the exhibition runs for five days, from February 23 – 27.

The event is firmly established as one of the world’s leading jewellery and watch exhibitions, with this year’s edition welcoming more than five hundred brands from twenty-seven countries, offering a greater variety and more choice of high-quality products than in any previous year.

Leading retailers that include Ali bin Ali, Al Fardan, Al Jaber, Al Majed Group, Al Makki, Al Muftah, Blue Salon, Fifty One East and Pari Gallery showcase brands as different and unique as Bremont, Bulgari, Chanel, Christophe Claret, Fabergé, Moser & Cie., Parmigiani Fleurier, Rolex and Jason of Beverly Hills.

The DJWE permits exhibitors to sell directly to the public; visitors are able to survey and select from the wide range of exquisite jewellery and watches, such as this jaw-dropping High Jewelry Rubis Secret Watch unique quartz movement timepiece in white and pink gold enhanced with diamonds and 115 oval-cut rubies for 151.25 carats (origin: Mozambique)  introduced last month at the SIHH and on display at the booth of Van Cleef & Arpels.

Further sparkle is added this year with a series of add-ons to the exhibition including on-the-spot gem certification, live workshops, special watch and pearl routes, private viewing rooms and educational seminars.  Workshops this year are provided by Cabestan watch manufacturer, David Webb jeweler, and the International Gemological Institute.

DJWE 2016 runs daily until 27 February, from 12:00 to 22:00  at DECC (off Diplomat Road, behind City Center Mall).

Entry is free.  DECC amenities available to DJWE visitors include wifi, refreshments and seating areas.
