Black On Black: Four Watches That Appeal In Monochromatic Colors

Black on black seems to be one of the most boring color combinations possible for watches. It makes it hard for designs to shine, and show their full potential, when it is more difficult to see all the different details. Or isn’t it? When you have to focus more, the details of the design become evident in a different way. Combined with the  understated look, that draws quite a bit of people to these watches, monochromatic watches have become a niche of their own in the world of watches. These four creations are proudly a member of that club!

TAG-Heuer Carrera HEUER-01 Ceramic

TAG-Heuer Carrera HEUER-01 Ceramic
With the Carrera HEUER-01 Ceramic does TAG-Heuer has a watch in its stable that does justice to the rich heritage that the brand has in the world of motorsports. Despite a ton-sur-ton look did the brand made sure that the chronograph functions are easy to read. They are powered by caliber HEUER-01, the brand’s manufacture chronograph movement. Case and bracelet are made from ceramic, which makes the watch surprisingly light, despite its generous diameter of 45mm. Quite unique is also its water resistance of 100 meters, as most manufacturers don’t bother making a watch that is not in particular made for water sports this waterproof.

Bulgari Octo Finissimo Minute Repeater Carbon

Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Minute Repeater Carbon
With only the hands and the five-seconds markers in another color is this version of the Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Minute Repeater a pretty stealthy piece! It is the thinnest minute repeater currently on the market, and with its case, dial and bracelet made of carbon, it is also the lightest. The carbon not only makes the watch look incredibly good, but it also does wonders for the sound. Clear and loud does it emerge from the case when the minute repeater is activated. It is quite a leap from the often far more traditional case designs that normally house a minute repeater movement, but with this Bvlgari, it works wonders!

Hublot Classic fusion Berluti All Black

Hublot Classic Fusion Berluti All Black
A dial made from leather? Hublot does it, as the brand has a partnership with the ultra-premium leather goods brand Berluti. For the Classic Fusion Berluti All Black, they use a black ceramic case, fitted with a caliber HUB1100 automatic movement. They combine this with a dial made from Berluti’s signature Venezia leather, in which the indexes and all the text is embossed. Of course, is this watch matched with a strap made of the same leather as the dial. The result is a remarkable watch, who’s only touch of color comes from the six titanium H-shaped screws in the bezel. Despite this does the watch show a lot of different hues, as well as a nice play of light, and is reading the time not only remarkable easy, but also a true pleasure on the exquisite creation that this Hublot Classic Fusion Berluti All Black is.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Ceramic

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Ceramic
Taking one of the most iconis watch designs of our time, fitted with an esteemed complication, and craft it from black ceramic takes guts. This is exactly what Audemars Piguet did with the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar. Through clever design, the brand created a very tempting watch in which all the functions are still as easy to read as ever. Thanks to an extremely refined finish does this Royal Oak stay true to it’s Haute Horlogerie legacy. Inside we find caliber 5134, which can be admired through a sapphire crystal caseback. Each of the 374 parts is finished to perfection, and Audemars Piguet paid special attention to the creation of its moon phase disc which closely resemble the night sky. A fitting detail on a watch that is an ode to the monochromatic color palette.
