This year Antiquorum will turn 40, and the auction house is celebrating the anniversary with the sale of rare modern complicated wristwatches in Hong Kong. The “Important Modern & Vintage Timepieces” auction will take place at the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong on Saturday, February 22.
This sale will feature 250 timepieces, including several limited edition Patek Philippe timepieces, a unique Richard Mille tonneau-shaped “Tourbillon Prototype” and an historical Rolex.

This Rolex Ref. 3688 18K yellow gold and steel wristwatch is expected to fetch between US$23,204 – $32,228. This round button chronograph, made circa 1937, features a steel and gold Rolex link bracelet and a deployant clasp, signed S&L.Produced in 2011, this Patek Philippe Ref. 5004A stainless steel wristwatch with split-seconds chronograph is expected to fetch between US$515,648 – $644,560. It boasts several complications, including perpetual calendar, moon phases, leap year and 24-hour indication. The limited edition piece, of which only 50 were produced, will be accompanied by a fitted wooden box, additional solid stainless steel case back, setting pin and leather folio.This Patek Philippe Ref. 5004J 18K yellow gold wristwatch is the only known example in yellow gold with a black dial and the only one ever to appear at auction. It is expected to fetch between US$322,280 – $399,627. It features perpetual calendar, moon phases, leap year and 24 hour indication. It was sold on September 21, 2011, and is accompanied by a Patek Philippe fitted box, Certificate of Origin, extra case back and push pin.This Patek Philippe Ref. 3939H, minute repeating platinum wristwatch with one-minute tourbillon regulator is expected to fetch between US$348,062 – $438,300. Made circa 2008, it features a platinum Patek Philippe deployant clasp, and is accompanied by a fitted box.This Patek Philippe Ref. 5971P features a platinum and baguette diamond-set bezel wristwatch with square button chronograph. It is expected to fetch between US$206,259 – $309,388. Sold on January 1, 2010, this timepiece features perpetual calendar, moon phases and 24 hour indication. It is accompanied by a mahogany fitted box, Certificate of Origin, additional solid platinum case back and setting pin.The Richard Mille RM038 AL MG PROTO 03 (Lot 231) is a tonneau-shaped “Tourbillon Prototype” magnesium wristwatch. It is expected to fetch between US$257,824 – $386,736. It features a visible one-minute tourbillon regulator, 48 hour power reserve and titanium Richard Mille double folding deployant clasp. It is accompanied by a fitted box, warranty, instruction and a set of golf clubs in the bag.This Audemars Piguet “Royal Oak Concept” Ref. 26265 FO carbon tourbillon chronograph features visible one-minute tourbillon regulator, linear power reserve and the signature octagonal ceramic bezel. It is expected to fetch between US$154,694 – $219,150. It is accompanied by the wooden box, warranty, instruction booklet and magnifying glass.This Panerai Ref. RAM348 is the first example of this skeletonized ceramic wristwatch offered at auction, and is expected to fetch between US$70,901 – $83,792. Number 23 of a limited edition of just 30 pieces, this 2010 model features one-minute dual axes tourbillon, 6 day power reserve, 24 hour indication and two time zones. It is accompanied by the original box, certificate, international guarantee certificate, instruction booklet, booklet (Lo Scienziato 2010, Tribute to Galileo Galilei 2011 and Panerai catalog 2010), Galileo’s Telescope book, additional straps (x3), hang tag and sticker.
