A Haute Look At The New Rolex Sky-Dweller In Everose Gold With A New Dial Color
This year at Watches and Wonders, Rolex introduced a brand-new Oyster Perpetual Sky-Dweller. A Rolex model that has continued to impress the watch industry over the last decade or so, the Sky-Dweller was created to cater to the needs of frequent travelers and global citizens, offering a convenient dual time zone function and an annual calendar. The origins of the Sky-Dweller can be traced back to Rolex’s long-standing commitment to innovation and precision as the watch was introduced as a response to the demands of modern travelers who needed a timepiece that could easily track time across different time zones while retaining the brand’s signature craftsmanship and reliability.
Upon its release, the Rolex Sky-Dweller made an immediate impact in the horological world. It marked the first Rolex watch to feature an annual calendar complication, which automatically differentiates between 30- and 31-day months. This innovation was achieved through the integration of 14 patents into the watch’s movement, the Calibre 9001. The watch’s distinctive dial is equally impressive, with its refined aesthetics and legible display. The large hands and markers, adorned with Rolex’s iconic Chromalight luminescent material, ensure easy reading in any lighting condition. The fluted bezel, a hallmark of the Sky-Dweller, adds a touch of refinement and distinguishes this model from other Rolex watches.

Now, Rolex has brought the Sky-Dweller into the modern era with its three new models — one in an 18-karat white gold version on an Oysterflex bracelet (marking the first time that a version of the Sky-Dweller combines this precious metal with the black elastomer bracelet), the white Rolesor version (combining Oystersteel and white gold) featuring a mint green dial, and finally, the variant fashioned in 18-karat Everose gold is sporting a new blue-green dial.

A color combination we had never seen before, the Everose gold and blue-green dial instantly stole the show for us. The color combination immediately catapults this sportier timepiece into a new echelon that boasts sophistication and, ultimately, versatility. Now more than ever, the buzz about versatile watches has not only become a massive trend but also a key selling point. I can’t count how many times I have heard people say: “You can wear it casually with athleisure on the tennis court or dress it up with a suit.” And for me, this watch is the epitome of that mindset.
Perhaps that is what Rolex was looking to accomplish with this contemporary addition to the Sky-Dweller repertoire. Today, the Sky-Dweller is not merely a watch; it’s a symbol of sophistication, precision, and the art of travel.
