Kross Studio Releases The 1989 Batmobile Desk Clock

Swiss manufacture design studio Kross Studio has manifested its mission to create exclusive art pieces for the finest collectors in a new partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products that has resulted in its cutting-edge, superpowered desk clock: the 1989 Batmobile Desk Clock. Inspired by the iconic Tim Burton film, the desk clock embodies innovation and creativity to deliver a stunning collectors’ piece that is both beautiful to look at and astonishingly impressive in its performance. The clock boasts a mechanical movement of the highest precision with an unequaled 30-day power reserve.

Just like Batman himself, the clock excels normal standards of strength and quality performance, featuring 512 components—115 for bodywork and 397 for movement. By comparison, a typical movement is about 130 components. Additionally, it runs at a frequency of 21’600 beats per hour or 3 HZ. Again, by comparison, a standard clock movement operates at 2.5 HZ. It has a manual-winding mechanical movement, with hours and minutes displayed by two cylinders—vertical and regulator. Its bodywork is equally as inspiring, and of course, nostalgic for one of the most iconic films of all time. The bodywork is a sleek, black aluminum composite with aeronautical grade scratch protection coating, featuring smoked windows with a light taint to enable a subtle glimpse of movement through the window. To complete the clock, a Batman-shaped key is included, created in a satin finish and mirror-polished steel that will wind the clock and set the time.
