Close your eyes and imagine this spectacular scene. Crowds of people stand on the platform of a historical shipyard in Italy on the coast of the Gulf of Poet. A beautifully prestigious superyacht, over 180 feet long, framed by a crown of light emitted from the sunset, sits snugly in its large slip amongst five other magnificent superyachts docked in the shipyard of Baglietto, each one special and historically famous for its beauty and power. This was the picturesque scene at Baglietto, a historical shipyard that has been building superyachts for over 160 years and is now owned by the Gavio family, located in La Spezia, Italy. Hull no. 10225, or more elegantly referred to as M/Y (Motoryacht) Severin’s, was unveiled in front of her owner, his friends and family, the yacht crew and the Edmiston team on July 6, 2019. To literarily display the extraordinary past and future of Baglietto, three ships sat onshore, still under construction and waiting to launch in 2020, one at the end of the group was brand-new and will not be ready until 2021.

The team who was part of the construction and their families watched the flag-raising ceremony alongside many ultra-high net worth guests, civil and military authorities, international media, CEOs and business executives. Aba ChiaraItalian singer, performer and X Factor finalist, sang the Italian national anthem. “This was a historic and emotional day, Not only did we welcome such a beautiful yacht, the biggest ever built by Baglietto in its recent history, but we also saw the history of the shipyard before our very eyes,” Michele Gavio, CEO of Beglietto, proudly stated after the first part of the launching ceremony. Following these beautiful words was the christening of the yacht by the Champaign bottle crash.

Ending the night in magnificent style and taste, the guests were served a dinner fit for a king, hosted by Il Galateo of Florence and enjoyed the finest wines by Marchesi Antinori. A luxury lounge was created especially for the yacht owner by Visionnaire, a luxury furniture company. This same company included a backstage area designed by Fabio Bonfà, filled with furniture crafted with excellence and well-known around Europe. To finish off the beautiful spectacle of a historical night, a custom green scenery, planted by Gruppo Giardini, an Italian firm specializing in the design and creation of exclusive high-end gardens around the world, surrounded the party.

With a maximum speed of 17 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots, Severin’s is certified with the maximum class by Lloyd’s Register of Shipping, donning two Caterpillar engines. Her hull is structured in a traditional platform called the T-Line, designed by Francesco Paszkowski Design. Sleek on the outside with soft lines, this luxury superyacht reflects the Baglietto traditional Italian style.

The multiple levels and decks of Severin’s are designed to accommodate a family. The central lobby includes a marble elevator with panoramic views, connecting to the three decks. The main saloon at the entrance of the lobby includes an area enclosed by a glass window that can be opened. To top everything off, there is a large circular dining table in the main deck dining area.

The main deck includes a master suite, a secluded office, and a walk-in closet, with two guest cabins on the same deck. Two additional guest cabins have been built onto the lower deck next to the crew area. The crew’s quarters are made up of a mess room and six crew cabins, all including ensuites. As for the upper deck, one can find another guest cabin that can double as a playroom or even a massage room with a multi-functional space that includes a sofa and two Pullman beds. A living room, conversation area, and a gaming table furnish this cabin as well. Outside of the upper deck, one can find a dining table for ten with a bar and relaxation area.

Last, but certainly not least, one can find a sun deck, a Baglietto trademark, on this superyacht. This is a large, open area, with a little more than 492 square feet in space, and offers a large sunbathing area with sunbeds. There is a relaxation area under the shade of the roll bar and two pop-up tables, easily turning this space into a cozy dining area. The sun deck also includes a swimming pool and bar. Severin’s is structured to allow more space on the foredeck, which is dedicated to the Beach Club. In addition to all of the amenities and spaces described above, the Beach Club spans an area of about 180 square feet to relax with a steam shower, another bar, and an area perfect for a gym or spa or both. This spot on this amazing superyacht faces the sea and, much like most of the other outdoor areas, is perfect for those tranquil moments on the water.
