Four Favorite Vintage Rolex

Rolex is one of the most extraordinary brands in the world. While many of its models started their life as so-called ‘tool watches,’ build for a particular purpose, they grew to become the pinnacle of luxury. This has resulted in a very rich history of remarkable models, in which calling favorites is not an easy task, but at least it is delightful to do!

Rolex Ref.6236 “Jean-Claude Killy”
Yes, we love our ‘Paul Newman’s’ but also the ‘Jean-Claude Killy is one we particularly appreciate. With its full calendar layout combined with the chronograph complication is makes for one imposing watch. The pointer date most certainly plays a part in this, as do the shape of the hands, which really give this watch that vintage feel.

Rolex Datejust Lapis Lazuli
The Datejust is still one of the most versatile everyday watches on the market. It is robust, yet it also has that timeless appeal that makes it a correct choice for any occasion. We like our Datejust with a twist, such as this white gold version with lapis lazuli dial. In most cases, Rolex would adorn either the dial or the case with diamonds, but we like it in that pure and iconic Datejust case.

Rolex Milgauss Ref. 6541
While any vintage Milgauss is a beautiful addition to any collection, this Ref.6541 is our favorite. It simply has all the right elements combined into a single watch. From the honey-comb black dial, the lightning bolt seconds hand, the red faded letters of the model’s name, but especially the turnable bezel. Complimented by a riveted Oyster bracelet, it is nothing short of being a vintage dream!

Rolex Ref. 6062
Rolex has never done many watches that feature a moon phase complication, and perhaps that’s why we like ref.6062 so much. Perfectly proportioned and fitted in a gold oyster-case is it a nearly irresistible proposition as well as a testimony to Rolex quest for perfection, both in a technical sense as well as regarding the design of its watches.
