Haute Time Gets An Inside Look At Breguet Watches During Basel World 2012
At Basel World, Haute Time got an inside look at the amazing watches on display from Breguet.
The first piece I was shown was part of the “Tradition” collection. It was a Rose Gold model with Rose Gold movement that was launched in 2010 and includes components invented by Leonardo da Vinci. The price of this timepiece is 171,500 Swiss Francs.
The “Tradition” GMT timpieces in white gold and rose gold were debuted for the first time here at Basel World. The watches feature a black dial and dual timezones with a day and night indicator. On the back you can see the 50 hour power reserve. The price of the white gold model will be 39,000 Swiss Francs.
I also got a special sneek peak of the The Classique Chronometrie 7727 in white gold and rose gold, a timepiece that was not shown to the public, only to press and VIPs. The 7727 is equipped with a double balance spring aad a special high frequency escapement, beating at 10 hertz. The faster the frequency, the more accurate is the watch. In the Classique 7727, the bottom pivot of the balance is held in place by a powerful permanent magnet, a design which has been patented. This watch is the best of the best when it comes to precision.
I also got a look at the Heritage Phases de Lune Retrograde timepiece which features a self winding calibre 586L movement with platinum winding rotor on the inside. The timepiece also has a moon phase indicator with hours and minutes on the engine-turned mother of pearl dial, which is how the watch got its name. You can even see that the moon does a little “wink.” It will be produced in rose gold and white gold cases and available with diamonds if desired. The rose gold suggested retail price is 28,000 Swiss Francs while the white gold model with diamonds will be 35,000 Swiss Francs.
