Zenith Just Dropped Two Boutique Exclusive Editions In Its Pilot Collection
Continuing Zenith’s 2023 theme of focusing on the Pilot — Zenith has once again taken the Pilot collection to new heights. In fact, Zenith just dropped the first-ever Boutique Editions of the Pilot Automatic and Pilot Big Date Flyback, featuring new blue dials.
The Zenith Pilot collection, reborn in 2023, draws inspiration from the rich history of aviation. While maintaining the essential elements of durability, legibility, and intuitiveness that have been pivotal for aviators since 1904, Zenith adds a modern design twist to these iconic timepieces. Blue, a signature color for Zenith, takes center stage in the Boutique Editions, symbolizing the night sky that has been a constant muse for the brand.
The Pilot Automatic Boutique Edition boasts a 40mm stainless steel case with a flat-top round bezel, exuding contemporary elegance. The textured dial, reminiscent of corrugated metal sheets on vintage aircraft fuselages, features oversized luminescent Arabic numerals and a date window. Powered by the El Primero 3620 high-frequency manufacture movement, this timepiece offers precision and a 60-hour power reserve, complete with a blue cordura-effect rubber strap and brown calfskin strap.
For a larger and more ‘tricked out’ option, the Pilot Big Date Flyback Boutique Edition in a 42.5mm stainless steel case presents an exceptional choice. It combines the El Primero 3652 chronograph caliber with a big date display and flyback function. The oversized date display operates with remarkable speed and precision, while the flyback function simplifies timing for aviators. This timepiece also is fitted with a blue cordura-effect rubber strap and a brown calfskin strap.
Both the Pilot Automatic Boutique Edition and the Pilot Big Date Flyback Boutique Edition are exclusively available through Zenith’s physical and online boutiques worldwide.
As if the two new launches weren’t enough, Zenith also introduced its first-ever “ICONS: PILOT” collection. This curated selection of vintage Zenith Pilot chronographs from the mid-20th century offers a glimpse into the brand’s longstanding commitment to aviator watches and instruments. Each watch in this collection has been meticulously restored and certified by ZENITH’s Heritage Department, aligning with the brand’s HORIZ-ON CSR initiative for sustainability and preservation of its historical references.
The “ICONS: PILOT” collection’s first act features three references from the late 1960s and 1970s, showcasing the professional and consumer facets of Zenith Pilot watches from that era. The TIPO CP-2 CAIRELLI, A3821, and 01.0230.415 models capture the essence of aviation history, combining functionality with innovative design.
It’s definitely interesting as Watches & Wonders 2024 is just around the corner — with LVMH Watch Week even closer – and with this recent launch, we’re almost certain it’s going to be another year dedicated to the glory of the Zenith Pilot.
