The Legacy of Father Time The story of Father Time dates back to the 1920s when Sir Herbert Baker, the architect of Lord’s Second Grand Stand, gifted this remarkable weathervane to MCC. Standing nearly one and a half meters tall, Father Time is a mythical figure that watches over the progression of time, closely linked to Law 12.3 of the Laws of Cricket, held by MCC, which signifies the end of the day’s play. The weathervane reflects the timeless spirit of cricket and the importance of adhering to the rules.

The Father Time Limited Edition Watch Based on the iconic Big Crown Pointer Date, a design that has remained timeless since its introduction as a pilot’s watch in 1938, the Father Time Limited Edition watch boasts a 40mm case, a fluted bezel, and a crown crafted from solid bronze. This naturally aging material adds character to the timepiece, making each watch unique. To complement the bronze case, the watch comes with both a bronze articulated bracelet and a light brown leather strap sourced from sustainable deer leather in collaboration with Swiss partner Cervo Volante.

The stainless steel case back features an engraving of the Father Time weathervane, along with the limited-edition number. With only 1,926 pieces available, the watch pays homage to the year Father Time was presented to Lord’s. Inside the watch beats the Oris Calibre 754, a Swiss-made automatic movement that powers the unique pointer date function, indicated by a central hand with a distinctive red, crescent-shaped tip.
