Zenith’s DEFY collection is a testament to the brand’s unrivaled technical innovation and modern design aesthetic. From gem-adorned creations to groundbreaking collaborations, Zenith weaves the concept of high-frequency precision into an array of colors and contrasts. Always driven by innovation and creativity, Zenith’s expertise shines through its unique ability to infuse unexpected vibrancy into its timepieces. With the DEFY 21 Chroma II limited editions, Zenith presents an audacious exploration of colors on its cutting-edge high-frequency chronograph.
Premiered during the LVMH Watch Week in 2022, the DEFY 21 Chroma edition instantly captivated horology enthusiasts. Combining a white ceramic case, a vivid spectrum of color accents, and the world’s first serially produced high-frequency 1/100th of a second automatic chronograph movement, it became an iconic offering. Now, Zenith elevates this essence by unveiling the DEFY 21 Chroma II in black and white ceramic variants – each with its own vibrant palette.

Beyond the material distinction, these two editions of the DEFY 21 Chroma II explore different color tones within the same spectrum. The black ceramic version showcases a range of shades inspired by primary colors, while the white ceramic rendition boasts lively accents of blues and pinks. The ceramic case serves as a canvas for a refracted rainbow that graces the dial, hands, and movement, seamlessly transitioning through a mesmerizing gradient. Expertly applied colors extend beyond the dial, enveloping the markers and 1/100th of a second scale, continuing into the crown’s rubber grip ring and cordura-effect rubber straps’ stitching.

The open dial reveals elevated chronograph counters, mirroring the case’s colors and providing a window into the beautifully decorated movement beneath. Each bridge shines in a distinct metallic hue, echoing the dial’s gradient. Visible through both the dial and the sapphire case back, the El Primero 21 automatic high-frequency 1/100th of a second chronograph movement takes center stage. Boasting two independent regulating organs and gear trains, this pinnacle of precision operates at frequencies of 5Hz (36,000 VpH) and 50Hz (360,000 VpH) for timekeeping and chronograph functions, respectively.
