Haute News: Girard-Perregaux & Saint Laurent Rive Droite Revive A 1970’s Classic, The Casquette
Today, Girard-Perregaux and Saint Laurent shocked the watch industry. Traveling back to the 1970s, the two legendary watch and fashion Maisons have come together to reinvent the Casquette watch. A timepiece that embraced new technologies, new materials, and a new design, the Casquette set a new precedent during its time as it disrupted the industry. In fact, when Girard-Perregaux launched the timepiece in 1976, they created a new norm by designing the model with a tubular LED display and a quartz movement, adhering to the current timepiece trends of the 1970s while also being a trendsetter in the industry.

Now, Girard-Perregaux and Saint Laurent once again disrupt the industry with the Casquette by unveiling the Casquette 2.0 Saint-Laurent 01. Limited to just 100 pieces, the new design by Saint Laurent’s Anthony Vaccarello is re-edited in an all-black ceramic and black PVD-treated grade 5 titanium. The watch’s design flows seamlessly as the light, ergonomic case arches around the wrist, creating an incredibly sleek look. The watch is also equipped with a chronograph and has the function to display the time in a different location.
