Zenith & Fusalp Collaborate On The Ultimate Timepiece For The Slopes
A new collaboration has arrived just in time for peak ski season: premier watch brand Zenith and French luxury ski brand Fusalp have joined forces to launch two watches and a skiwear collection. Integrating the heritage of each brand’s legacies — Zenith’s world-first automatic high-frequency chronograph and Fusalp’s invention of the competition ski suit — the exclusive capsule collection introduces technically-advanced pieces tailored for the alpine lifestyle.
“This is an exciting new kind of partnership for Zenith and one that is very close to our hearts. More than just a fashion House, Fusalp are innovators,” notes Zenith CEO Julien Tornare on the groundbreaking partnership. For Tornare, the synergies between the brands were undeniable, as Fusalp also creates high-performing yet fashionable skiwear — meant for the slopes and après — ultimately exuding the same versatility as Zenith timepieces.
Thus, the DEFY Classic Fusalp was born. Limited to 300 pieces in a black 41mm ceramic case and 100 pieces in a white 41mm ceramic, the DEFY Classic Skeleton Fusalp features a new open dial that combines Zenith’s signature five-pointed star motif with a snowflake shape, accented with Fusalp’s French tricolor tones. The upper dial is contrasted by a rose gold lower layer, which sits atop the Elite 670 high-frequency automatic movement with a power reserve of 50 hours.
Complementing the timepiece, Fusalp designed a ready-to-wear capsule that embodies the same color palette and spirit as the timepiece. In fact, the timepiece and ready-to-wear seamlessly blend as the watch is also fitted with a durable rubber strap that fuses the elements inspired by the clothing capsule.
“Fusalp and Zenith have respectively revolutionized their industries. The mastery of time and movement, embodied by Zenith, as the inventor of the world’s first automatic chronograph movement in 1969,” says Fusalp CEO Alexandre Fauvet. “Two years earlier, Fusalp invented the first competition ski suit, with France’s national ski team going on to win seven gold medals at the Portillo Alpine World Championships in 1966. These feats shape Fusalp and Zenith as pioneers who nurture the precision for exceptional products, which are designed with refined modernity, accuracy, and craftsmanship.’’
A collaboration destined for the mountains, the Fusalp x Zenith collection is the ultimate testament to the relationship between premier craftsmanship, the art of movement, and the adventure of mountain sports.
The Fusalp x Zenith collection will make its public debut in Zurich during the opening of the new Fusalp boutique this month, after which the watches will be available at Zenith physical and online boutiques worldwide as selected Fusalp boutiques.
