Super Bowl Winner Antonio Brown Teams Up With Skeleton Concept For Unique Limited Edition
Antonio Brown is a respected veteran within the NFL, starting in 2010 at the Pittsburgh Steelers and currently playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He also won the Super Bowl for the 2020 season with this team, scoring the third touchdown of the final game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Known for his distinct style and eye for quality, it is no surprise that Brown teamed up with Skeleton Concept, the French Haute Horlogerie atelier. Together, they dreamed up a unique customization launched today as the Antonio Brown Concept and based on the Rolex Submariner ‘Hulk’ 116610LV.
As Brown puts it in words himself “I am proud to join the Skeleton Concept family. This timepiece is the result of exceptional work. The master watchmakers of Skeleton Concept knew how to take my instructions and impeccably translate my wishes for this model, no matter how long it took to achieve this exact result. This timepiece perfectly represents me. The model finally lives up to its name “Hulk”, and I’m proud to associate mine with it.”
As always, Skeleton Concept goes all in to make the watch as expressive and unique as possible. It took them over a year to complete the extensive work, which included skeletonizing the automatic movement and applying a two-tone anthracite steel rhodium plating. This further amplifies the depth of the caliber. To not interfere with this, they also made the date ring translucent to look as clean as possible and not block any of the stunning details.
Brown and Skeleton Concept opted to highlight the colors green and orange, which gives the watch a vibrant contrast. The timepiece is signed by the name of the NFL player, along with his jersey number. Additionally are the 7 and the 10 highlighted by Arabic numerals, as a subtle reference to Brown’s birthday on July 10th. Legibility is ensured by the dial outline surrounding the movement, where Skeleton Concept also marked the hours in Super LumiNova, ensuring that the time can also be read in low light conditions. Also, the sapphire crystal plays a role in this, which Skeleton Concept donned with its signature luminescent intra-ceramic engravings. Another eye-catching detail is the orange second’s hand, which goes very nicely with the unique green and orange bezel.
The stunning and refined details continue at the back of the watch, where Skeleton Concept inserted a sapphire see-through caseback. Here we get to admire the skeletonized movement from a different perspective, with a dash of color added by the orange ionized oscillating weight. The orange strap is the finishing touch that adds even more character to this charismatic collaboration between the NFL star player and Skeleton Concept. The timepiece is limited to just 55 pieces, with Antonio Brown being one of the proud owners of one.
