5 Questions With Jorn Werdelin, CEO of LINDE WERDELIN

5 Questions With Jorn Werdelin, CEO of LINDE WERDELIN

Seth Semilof
By Seth Semilof March 14, 2012

Haute Living: Tell us some of the most exciting developments at LINDE WERDELIN today?

Jorn Werdelin: In the last five years, while developing The Reef, LINDE WERDELIN has established itself as the only company boasting the widest knowledge and know-how in manufacturing high quality dive instruments. Certainly like no other watch manufacturer retains. This skill and experience has been applied, both in its design and structure, into the new Oktopus II, LINDE WERDELIN’s latest timepiece which will be proudly launched at BaselWorld 2012.

The Oktopus II timepieces, along with the Reef, LINDE WERDELIN’s highly technical and crafted diving instrument, represent the ultimate diving tool for a diver whether being for professional or leisurely application.

The revamped Oktopus II, features a robust structure and an innovative solution to its body-case. This newly designed case is formed by 5 separate titanium units which assembled together guarantee absolute water resistance and advanced diving performance.

Haute Living: What watch do you wear daily?

Jorn Werdelin: I am proud of all our LINDE WERDELIN models. Lately I have been shifting between a light SpidoLite II Titanium Anthracite and the chronograph launched last year SpidoSpeed in Rose Gold titanium.

Haute Living: If money was not a concern, which Linde Werdelin would you recommend to a customer?

Jorn Werdelin: One of the models form the latest Oktopus II collection. A beautiful design for everyday use.

Haute Living:  For movement, what watch do you produce that you are most proud of?

Jorn Werdelin: We chose a specific movement manufacturer for each watch we built, according to its specific characteristics. For the Oktopus II we wanted a big date so we opted for Dubois Depraz, specialized in calendar movement dates.

For SpidoSpeed and SpidoLite II with see through back case we opted for a LW bespoke made movement by Concepto manufacturer, ideal for that skeletonised dial structure.

Haute Living: Blackberry/Iphone/Android?

Jorn Werdelin: Iphone and Android
