The Fluid Design Of The HYT H1.0

HYT holds a unique position within the watch industry with its mechanical watches that tell the time by pumping fluids through a capillary glass tube. They offer this technology in a variety of different models with among them the H1.0. On paper, this watch looks incredibly large, with a diameter of 48.8mm and a height of 20.08mm. Yet inspired by the way that it indicates the time, is also its design so fluid that it fits nearly any wrist size with great comfort.

Introducing The Parmigiani Tonda 1950 Double Rainbow Flying Tourbillon

Technically challenging and aesthetically daring, Parmigiani has ever since it was founded in 1996, shown a passion for combining both. This is especially true for the new Tonda 1950 Double Rainbow Flying Tourbillon. The watch is powered by caliber PF517, a movement that not only impresses with its complications but also with its finish. It has a height of 3.4mm, which is very thin, considering that it is not only equipped with a flying tourbillon but also features automatic winding. Creating such a movement in-house is something that Parmigiani only achieve because it is a fully vertically integrated manufacture.

Light In Dark Times: The Illuminating Innovations Of The New Roger Dubuis Excalibur Twofold

When we talk about a brand like Roger Dubuis, it is challenging to put their position within the market in words. Perhaps the most appropriate is that of 'traditional innovator.' The brand is thoroughly grounded in the traditions of Swiss watchmaking, yet utilizes them to take the next step on the evolution ladder. A clear example of this is the new Excalibur Twofold, which introduces us to several novelties.

Haute Time Talks About Success Factors With Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe

What has been only a short few weeks looks almost like another lifetime, when we were able to sit down with Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of Hublot, to talk about the success factors of the brand. At the time, increased tensions between Iran and other parties in the region seemed to be the biggest fear, but little did we know that soon the Covid-19 pandemic would rule our daily lives and made the LVMH Watch Week the only fair that has been taken place this year so far. Nevertheless, was it a more than an interesting conversation in which he shared freely his insights in what makes Hublot such a success story.

Our Favorite New Pet: MB&F Launches the HM10 Bulldog

An entirely new MB&F is always an exciting thing. The brand has yet to make something that can be categorized as a 'normal' watch, and also their latest creation refuses to fit in. The Horological Machine No.10, or HM10 in short, is inspired by a bulldog and comes with 'eyes' that tell the time and a jaw that serves as a power reserve indicator.

Watch of the Week: Bulgari Octo Finissimo Minute Repeater Sandblasted Rose Gold

Bulgari has spoiled us over the last few years with ultra-thin delicacies that they presented within the Octo Finissimo collection. One of the highlights in this line-up is, without a doubt, the minute repeater. It has a natural attraction to watch connoisseurs because of its complex mechanism, but also due to the sound it makes. Many brands have invested significant resources in improving the vibrance and tone when the hammers hit the gongs, but Bulgari also focussed on the movement itself. Through clever engineering, they succeeded in making it only 3.12mm thick, which is as astonishing as it is record-breaking.

Going Green For St.Patrick’s Day

Many brands have not only adopted green as a staple color within their collection but also make many different types of watches with this color. From classic dress watches and utilitarian pilots to diving watches and sporty chronographs, green is here to stay, and what better day to wear a green watch than on St.Patrick's Day?

Bold And Bronze: The Staying Power Of A Not So New Material

As a material, does bronze have an imposing history playing, especially an essential role from around 3300 till 600 BC. During this period, which is even named the Bronze age, was the alloy made from combining tin with copper. The advantage of bronze was that it is very malleable and also less brittle than, for example, cast iron, so perfect for making a great variety of different objects. As the material is very resistant to corrosion from seawater, it has also played a particularly important role in maritime history.
